Case note: manufacturing group, Q4 board pack
A regional manufacturing group asked for a Board Reporting Audit Summary eight working days before its December sitting. The management pack was mostly complete, but inventory cut-off evidence and two intercompany eliminations remained unsettled.
We returned a draft summary that listed cut-off as a material discussion item with residual risk language the chair could minute, and flagged the eliminations as contingent pending confirmations. After one revision from the finance committee, the final pages bound into the board papers three days before the meeting.
The sitting still spent time on supplier confirmations — as expected — but directors did not reopen formatting debates about the pack structure.
